The cold sea waters outside Norway and Iceland provide excellent habitat for fish. The weather in this area is fascinating and full of contrasts. Midwinter the sun sinks below the horizon and it will not appear again until January. On clear winter evenings the Aurora Borealis or Northern lights transform the sky to a living painting. Summer, by contrast, offers daylight around the clock – this provides the fish with an abundance of food.
